In the wake of Big Tech companies banning U.S. President Donald Trump from their social media platforms, it poses a genuine concern. What about social media views that differ from the status quo or what has been accepted by the regressive left as social norms today? 

Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, and Apple are busy shadow banning - preventing content from reaching the user’s audience - those who hold unpopular Christian views. Whether these are journalists, authors, writers, key Christian leaders, or anyone else - there is no question that we are being targeted.

A fundamental element of Australian society is freedom of speech and expression, and this has traditionally been offline. Still, it should also extend to the online world, which is very much connected to our reality. International tech giants don’t seem to be interested in respecting that. They only give a free pass to the views and ideologies they support. 

That’s why we are calling upon CitizenGOers around Australia to sign our petition to The Hon Paul Fletcher, Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts asking that he introduce legislation that will stop social media platforms and tech giants from censoring the lawful right of freedom of speech in Australia. 

It is time to fight back in Australia. We will not continue to allow big tech companies to censor free speech, filter the news we read, and withhold information about Christian views from the targeted audiences. There needs to be legislation to ensure Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms can no longer ban, censor, suspend, “fact-check,” or shadowban users for posting content that is lawful in Australia.

In times past, our forefathers bravely fought and died so that Communist and Nazi tyrants would never reach the shores of this country. And yet, here in 2021, we face a new and ever-present danger: enemies of freedom of speech. What will the future look like for our children? It is our duty to not let the regressive left dictate what we can and can’t say.
