Protect BC Parents' Rights

When you thought things couldn't get any crazier in this country... On April 25th, 2019, a pro-LGBT activist judge in BC found a man guilty of "family violence" for calling his daughter a girl and using the pronouns "she" and "her" to refer to her.

The 14 year-old girl, referred to by the court as "A.B.", became gender dysphoric and now thinks she is really a boy. She is currently receiving artificial hormones to alter her natural feminine appearance and retard her development. Her mother supports her delusion, but her father (called "C.D." or "Clark") rejects it and wants her to receive appropriate therapy for the depression she has been battling. Clark believes that encouraging his daughter to "transition" will only do more harm to his daughter's mental health.

The judge ruled against Clark and issued a restraining order. This order forbids him to speak publicly about the case and compels him to refer to his daughter as a boy. Clark is now not allowed to use A.B.'s birth name, he is ordered to use male pronouns for her, and he is banned from trying to persuade her to discontinue her artificial hormone "therapy".

The judge decreed that Clark's "expressions of rejection of AB’s gender identity, both publicly and privately, constitutes family violence against AB."

In actual fact, it is the judge who is facilitating violence against this troubled young girl. By enabling the hormone "therapy", the judge is actively permitting doctors to treat this girl as a guinea pig in a truly frankenstein social experiment. Those artificial hormones are well known to cause health problems later in life, and they will likely leave this girl permanently sterile.

The judge is also ignoring the fact that 84.2% of gender dysphoric youth come to accept their biological sex upon entering adolescence or adulthood. In other words, transgender desistence is a normal, expected, and desired outcome. So why should Clark be knocked for wanting this for his daughter?

Clark has done no actual violence. Out of a loving, fatherly concern, he simply wants his daughter to come to terms with her own body, physiology, and DNA. Should he be punished for caring about his daughter's life, health, and choices?

B.C. parents need to be protected from those who would take away their rights and expose their children to genuine physical harm.

Protect Loving Parents!

Dear Minister David Eby,

I am deeply concerned about the recent B.C. Supreme Court ruling in the A.B. v. C.D. and E.F. case (2019 BCSC 604).

A loving father (C.D.) has been found guilty of "family violence" for merely affirming the true, biological sex of his daughter (A.B.) and for trying to prevent her from undergoing a spurious transgender "therapy".

That disputed therapy will interfere with A.B.'s natural physiological development and will likely leave her sterile and with other adverse long-term health effects.

C.D. has not committed any form of actual violence. Out of a loving, fatherly concern, he simply wants his biological daughter to come to terms with her own body, physiology, and DNA.

Studies (Steensma et al.) show that 84.2% of gender dysphoric youth come to accept their biological sex upon entering adolescence or adulthood. Transgender desistence is a normal, expected, and desired outcome.

C.D. should not be punished for caring about his daughter's health and choices. He has the right and duty to advocate for his daughter's mental and physical well being.

I am asking you to take whatever steps are necessary to safeguard the rights of all B.C. parents to exercise their freedom to express love and concern for their children, and to share their beliefs and opinions on what is best for them.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
