We oppose euthanasia (MAiD) for incompetent people, for mental illness and we also oppose eliminating the waiting period.
In February 2018 the board of the Delta BC Hospice Society was given an edict from Fraser Health to provide euthanasia (MAiD). At that time, the board refused to comply and continued its good work.
The Alberta Legislature had first reading on Conscience Rights (Health Care Providers) Protection Act, Bill 207 on November 7, a private members bill that is sponsored by MLA Dan Williams, a backbench government member from Peace River.
Kelly, a 23-year-old physically healthy woman who lives in Leuven, Belgium, is being considered for death by euthanasia (lethal injection) for psychiatric reasons.
On May 20, the hospital in Reims France, where Vincent Lambert is living, began to deeply sedate him and withdraw the tube that provides him food and water. Later in the day, a Court of Appeal in Paris ordered that he continue to receive food and fluids.

Ever since the legalization of euthanasia and assisted suicide in 2016, there has been a growing political pressure on medical professionals to participate in these unconscionable acts. Many worry that they will lose their jobs or suffer discrimination if they refuse to actively kill their patients – or if they refuse to refer a patient for killing.

The recent edict by Fraser Health Authority in British Columbia ordering (non-religious) healthcare facilities, including hospices, to participate in euthanasia (MAiD – so-called “medical assistance in dying”) is an infringement on the conscience rights of medical staff.

Een 29-jarige Nederlandse vrouw genaamd Aurelia (in de media Sarah of Sara) zal volgens plan op 26 januari aanstaande rond 14.00 uur geëuthanaseerd worden op grond van haar 'onbehandelbare' psychologische pijn. Aurelia worstelt met borderline persoonlijkheidsstoornis, post-traumatische stressstoornis, verslaving, ernstige angsten, auditieve hallucinaties en depressie en leeft al jaren met zelfmoordgedachten. As a national media broadcasting corporation, CBC should not produce one-sided propaganda programs on assisted death, making every effort NOT to spread suicide contagion. Instead, they promote euthanasia.
UPDATE 02/13/2017: Breaking news that the House Commitee on Oversight and Government reform has PASSED the resolution to overturn D.C.'s assisted suicide law. This is an important first step toward victory! But the fight isn't over yet.
U.S. Congress has 30 days to act or the “Death with Dignity Act” will become law.
