Join Judge Roy Moore's stand against Federal overreach on marriage
Judge Roy Moore is back in the news... and this time, he needs our support.
Roy Moore, Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, has ordered state judges to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. The order will remain in effect until the full state Supreme Court can determine the scope of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell redefining marriage, and assess the decision's impact on Alabama's state constitutional provision defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
A year ago, Judge Roy Moore announced that he would resist the tyranny of federal courts trying to force "gay marriage" upon states that have democratically passed amendments protecting marriage between a man and a woman. Now he's doing it...
Alabama passed a marriage amendment with 81% support in 2006. Chief Justice Moore has noted that nothing in the U.S. Constitution requires states to permit same-sex "marriages," and cited the U.S. Supreme Court's 1885 and 1908 decisions calling marriage "the union of one man and one woman in the holy estate of matrimony; the surest foundation of all that is stable and noble in our civilization."
Previously, Judge Roy Moore took a stand to preserve the 10 Commandments at the Alabama Supreme Court. After being ousted from the court, he was re-elected as Chief Justice in 2012. He has long been an advocate for America's traditions, the right to life, the sanctity of marriage, and religious freedom.
Will you stand with Judge Roy Moore against the judicial tyranny of the Obergefell decision? Let's express our support for Judge Moore as he exercises his duty as a lesser magistrate to uphold the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the great state of Alabama.
