Indiana House considers pro-life bill. Tell them to pass this important legislation!
Last week, the Indiana State Senate voted to approve SB 313, a bill that would prohibit abortions sought on the basis of a child’s race, sex, or diagnosis of a fetal disability. This legislation would also make the sale of fetal tissue a Level 5 felony, and would require parents of an unborn baby diagnosed with a terminal abnormality to receive information about prenatal hospice care.
This would be an important step towards protecting the lives of all unborn children, but SB 313 is expected to face resistance in the Indiana House. Please urge the Speaker of the House Brian Bosma to pass this bill into law!
Senator Travis Holdman said that the legislation “sends one clear message to the nation and to our fellow Hoosiers and that is that we value human life.”
Children diagnosed in utero with disabilities are aborted at an alarmingly high rate. Nine hospital based studies found the rate of abortion at their institutions to be as high as 85% when a preborn child is diagnosed with Down syndrome.
Killing a baby because he has Down syndrome, or because she’s a girl and not a boy, is an abomination. We must remember that every abortion is the ending of a human life that is made in the image of God. There is sanctity in each and every human life, and we must fight on all fronts to protect unborn children.
This legislation would be an important restriction on abortion and would save many precious lives. Please urge Speaker of the House Brian Bosma to stand for life in Indiana!
