Ohio, tell Ted Strickland we won’t stand for federally funded abortion!
U.S. Senate candidate Ted Strickland recently came out in favor of federally funded abortions. Strickland said he believes the Hyde Amendment, which for decades has prevented federal funding for abortion, should be repealed and he will work to make that a reality. This stance is in lockstep with the Democratic Party platform, which is the most pro-abortion platform in the history of the party.
This cannot be allowed. We have seen the devastating effects of abortion on our nation—babies ripped apart in the womb, their body parts sold to the highest bidder, women’s lives torn apart by grief and guilt, and a generation of men stripped of their fatherhood. Abortion is one of the greatest evils of our time and we must fight against it.
Let’s tell Strickland that the good people of Ohio will not stand for a senator who disregards human life in such a blatant way. If he wants to get elected, he must revise his position.
“Ted Strickland stands in lockstep with Hillary Clinton and the abortion lobby in their desire to force Americans to pay for abortion on demand, up until the moment of birth, with their taxpayer dollars. He’s made clear today he will fight for Big Abortion, not Ohio families—a position that is profoundly unpopular—including with members of his own party,” said Ohio Right to Life President Mike Gonidakis and SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
In light of the undercover videos that exposed the sale of baby body parts last summer, it’s all the more important that we redouble our efforts this summer to continue the fight against abortion. Strickland’s support of abortion on-demand through repealing he Hyde Amendment is out of step with the people of Ohio.
In February of this year, the Ohio legislature passed and Governor Kasich signed legislation that defunded Planned Parenthood. A national poll found that the 62 percent of Americans believe that it’s wrong to use tax dollars to fund abortion.
We have made great strides in creating a culture of life and passing legislation to curtail abortion in Ohio; we cannot allow Strickland’s political agenda to undo that important work. Let’s tell him now that if he wants to be Senator Strickland, he better start paying attention to his voters.
