CBC Promotes the Exploitation of Children for Sexual Entertainment

CBC Kids News recently posted a promo piece about a new documentary called "Drag Kids". This brief video, aimed at a youth audience, promotes and glamourizes children being "drag queens".

It is absolutely heart-wrenching to see young 9, 10, 11, and 12 year old boys and girls being exploited as cross-dressing sex objects, performing lewd dances for the entertainment of rowdy LGBT crowds. One 10 year old even goes by the stage name "Lactatia" (as in "lactating").

They have obviously been groomed into this exhibitionist, immoral, pornographic practice by adults of influence in their lives. No decent parents would ever allow their children to be used like this - not for all the fame and money in the world!

CBC, by showcasing these misguided kids and presenting them as "normal" is glorifying an insidious form of child abuse and exploitation.

Not only should these children's parents be investigated by police, so should the producers of this CBC documentary! These kids should be in school, at home, in the playground - doing normal "kid things", not practising erotic dance moves in drag to provide pleasure to aroused adult audiences.

This may well constitute "sexual exploitation" under the Criminal Code of Canada, section 153 (1)(b).

There needs to be an urgent uproar against this - NOW!

Please sign this petition to the CBC to ask that this promo piece be removed and its producers investigated.

We have also reported this matter to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.

(a) for a sexual purpose, touches, directly or indirectly, with a part of the body or with an object, any part of the body of the young person; or
(b) for a sexual purpose, invites, counsels or incites a young person to touch, directly or indirectly, with a part of the body or with an object, the body of any person, including the body of the person who so invites, counsels or incites and the body of the young person.

CBC Promotes Sexualized and Exploited Children

On July 4th, CBC Kids News published a promo piece that glamourizes children being "drag queens".

Four young children, ages 9 to 12, are interviewed in the video. They are shown cross-dressing in "drag" and performing lewd, sexually-suggestive dances for the erotic pleasure of adult audiences.

They have obviously been groomed into this exhibitionist, immoral, pornographic practice by adults of influence in their lives, who have convinced them that this is normal and acceptable.

CBC Kids News is complicit in the sexualization and exploitation of these young children by portraying their activities in a glowing light. Furthermore, they are actively encouraging other young children to be exploited in similar ways by publishing this video in their youth-oriented news service.

I believe this may well constitute the criminal sexual exploitation of children under section 153 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

I am asking you to remove this promo piece immediately and investigate its producers. I also request that CBC Kids News produce and air a documentary warning children of the dangers of sexual exploitation and grooming.

Sincerely,
