NYC bans “misgendering:” Sign the letter to Mayor DeBlasio to protect free speech!
On December 21, New York City’s Commission on Human Rights announced new legal guidance that expands the city’s 2002 transgender "anti-discrimination" law. These expansions are both sweeping and oppressive.

Under this new and radical policy, if a landlord, employer, or business owner fails to refer to man who says he’s a woman as “her,” he or she could be fined $250,000.
Violations of the city code include failing to use an individual’s preferred name or pronoun, restricting the use of same-sex facilities (like locker rooms, bathrooms, and showers), sex stereotyping, and imposing different dress codes based on gender.
In addition, employers are now required to cover the costs of all medical procedures for “transitioning” to the opposite sex.
The manual states, “health benefit plans must cover transgender care, also known as transition-related care or gender-affirming care … Transgender care includes a range of treatments, including, for example, hormone replacement therapy, voice training, or surgery.”
“This is essentially a speech crime law,” Jeremy Tedesco, senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom explains. “You can be fined up to $250,000 if you use the pronoun ‘he’ to refer to a man.” He argues that the Commission has “extremely overreached on the guidelines they’ve passed.”
Many transgender activists hope that these guidelines will be a stepping-stone to even more oppressive laws and the gender indoctrination of school children. It is critical that we fight back and voice our opposition.
We must stand up to this radical, state sponsored intolerance.
