Judge Ruth Neely’s position is at risk over her opposition to same-sex “marriage”

Wyoming Judge Ruth Neely came under intense fire in 2014 after she expressed her opposition to same-sex “marriage.” Now, the case against her has reached the Wyoming Supreme Court and she faces losing her job and her livelihood if the Court rules against her.

Please sign this petition to express your solidarity with Judge Neely.

In December 2014, a local Wyoming newspaper - the Sublette Examiner - published an article revealing that: “Municipal Judge Ruth Neely, Pinedale town judge for more than 20 years . . . has indicated she will be unable to perform same-sex marriages if asked.” Judge Neely suggested that she would refer any such cases to another magistrate, which would allow her to avoid compromising her sincerely held religious beliefs on marriage.

Judge Neely’s constitutional and logical position has put her job at risk. The LGBT lobby is on a crusade to get her barred from service anywhere in the Wyoming judiciary, and they’ve taken their fight all the way to the Wyoming Supreme Court.

Judge Neely could be asked to participate in same-sex “marriages” within her role as an unpaid part-time circuit court magistrate. This volunteer position is unrelated to her primary role as a municipal judge.

But the LGBT lobby and the Wyoming Commission on Judicial Conduct and Ethics (CJCE) were not content to ensure that Judge Neely merely stop acting as magistrate. Instead, they saw her “bias” as a reason to remove her from her position as a municipal judge and to bar her from all future practice in the Wyoming Judiciary.

Judge Neely’s free speech rights are being swept away in the CJCE’s rush to prove their love for “tolerance” and “equality.” Equality, it seems, for all except those who disagree with their sexual revolution.

Your signatures will be sent to Judge Neely, to show her that she is not alone and to encourage her to continue defending her beliefs. Your signatures will also be sent to the Wyoming Supreme Court.

Solidarity and encouragement

Dear Judge Ruth Neely,

I am writing to encourage you in your defense of your job and your beliefs. Please be encouraged by the knowledge that you are not alone in your beliefs on marriage or in your defense of your free speech rights.

Your rights are being trampled on in the CJCE’s rush to prove their love for “tolerance” and “equality,” but the CJCE has shown no tolerance for those who do not want to go along with their sexual revolution.

I pray that the Wyoming Supreme Court will serve justice in your case and will ensure that you are allowed to maintain your position. If they unjustly rule against you, I pray that you will continue defending your beliefs and fighting for your position.

Thank you for standing up for your sincerely held beliefs and for refusing to bow to the pressure of those who would see you silenced.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
