Tell the Federal Health Minister: Audit Gender Clinics!

Right now in Australia, children as young as 10 are undergoing life-altering, irreversible gender “treatments” based on radical diagnoses of gender dysphoria.

Despite repeated warnings and concerns shared by medical practitioners globally, there has been an alarming rise in the number of children and teenagers suffering from distress about their bodies, and the parallel rise in Australian gender clinics prescribing such watery medical interventions.

We are facing a tidal wave of regressive “woke” agendas from the Left who continue to display an increasingly hostile attitude to anything but supporting transitional treatments.

An example of this has been the witchhunt surrounding “conversion therapy” (a red-herring term used by the regressive Left to insinuate that Christians basically use mental torture to “fix” gender confused people).  It is now a crime in the state of Victoria for a parent to even pray for their gender confused child without facing consequences if reported.

This is serious and we need to act swiftly!

That’s why I’m writing to you today to ask Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt to push for the review he requested in November 2020 into gender clinics across the country. A review that to public knowledge has not happened and if it has, where are the results?

In 2019, it was found that UK psychologists were unnecessarily “over-diagnosing” children as young as three with gender dysphoria over fears staff would be branded transphobic if they didn’t.

More recently, an English High Court heard expert evidence from US psychiatrist Stephen Levine, as part of Keira Bell’s successful case against the Tavistock gender clinic, that “there is no other field of medicine where such radical interventions are offered to children with such a poor evidence base.”

The situation is not much different right here in Australia. It is clear that political correctness infused with transgender agendas has trumped medically sound treatment options.

Without access to good data, how can the public understand what is going on? Why are we allowing clinics right here in Australia to poison the impressionable minds of children with life-altering gender ideologies? How is it scientific to affirm to a child that they are born in the wrong body? How do we reconcile the increasing number of adults coming forward with stories of regret because they received gender change treatments and associated lifelong effects from puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries received as a young child? How do we help these individuals wishing to “detransition” and reverse the long term physical, emotional and psychological effects they now suffer with? Have we made children facing sexual confusion aware that they may feel differently about their identity and body in the near future? How is this considered good, ethical science?

These and many more questions are why we are asking for a full review into the way gender clinics operate in Australia.

Let me be clear. We do not wish to any deny distressed child or teenager the support they may need to navigate through sexual identity confusion. But as we’ve seen in the case of many “detransitioners”, many now in their mid-twenties, there can be devastating consequences where radical gender treatments have been provided and that person  later regrets what happened. It’s well past time governments, whether state or Federal, running gender clinics across the country confronted this difficult reality and opened up to public scrutiny.

Gender confused children and teens deserve so much better!

Dear Hon Greg Hunt,

I am writing to you today asking you to push for the review you requested, in November 2020, into gender clinics across the country. A review that, to public knowledge, has not happened and if it has, where are the results?

Have we made children facing sexual confusion aware that they may feel differently about their identity and body in the near future? How is this considered good, ethical science?

These and many more questions are why we are asking for a full review into the way gender clinics operate in Australia.

I look forward to hearing a public response to this important issue.

Sincerely,
